Ingredients
  

Thai Basil Gimlet:

  • 2 ounces dry gin
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 3/4 ounce Thai basil simple syrup
  • Thai basil leaves for garnish

Thai Basil Simple Syrup:

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup loosely packed Thai basil leaves (can sub for sweet basil if

Instructions
 

To make the syrup:

  • Heat water and sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat until the sugar dissolves
  • Remove from heat and add the Thai basil leaves. Let steep for 15-20 minutes
  • Strain and let cool before using. Store in the fridge for up to a week

To make the cocktail:

  • Pour gin, lime juice, and Thai basil simple syrup into a cocktail shaker, and add ice
  • Shake well (cocktail cardio!) and strain into a chilled cocktail coupe
  • Amp this up further: muddle a few Thai basil leaves in the shaker first!
