Whipped Goat Cheese with Spicy Cranberry Sauce and Honey Walnut Crunch

Holiday

RECIPE 1 of THANKSGIVING MENU SERIES:
WHIPPED GOAT CHEESE with SPICY CRANBERRY SAUCE and HONEY WALNUT CRUNCH ?️??

We are starting off the Thanksgiving Menu Series with a BANG! This appetizer is so decadent that it could *almost* double as a dessert – and even a side if you leave out the goat cheese part. I was inspired by the classic pepper jelly over cream cheese app, and wanted to create something that was an elevated version of that. If you don’t like spice, simply leave out the Jalapeño! Also another note, I used brown sugar instead of cane. I feel like it adds depth to the cran sauce. This recipe has every element that I love of a good holiday appetizer: it’s festive, delicious, creamy, tart with just the right amount of crunch. Let me know what you think!

INGREDIENTS:

For the cranberry sauce:
12 ounces fresh cranberries
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup water
1 jalapeño, seeded and finely chopped
Zest and juice 1 orange
Pinch salt
for the whipped goat cheese
11 ounces room temp goat cheese
8 oz. room temp cream cheese
1 tsp maple syrup
1 ounce lemon juice

For the honey walnut crunch:
spicy honey
Chopped walnuts
Chopped dried cranberries
Pinch of flaky salt

DIRECTIONS:
To make the cranberry sauce, combine ingredients in a sauce pan over medium high heat. Place lid over the pan for 5ish minutes. Then, remove the lid, lower the heat and let simmer for 10 min, or until cranberries start to burst. Remove from heat and let completely cool.
In a food processor, combine goat & cream cheese, maple syrup and lemon juice. Pulse until smooth and whipped. For the crunch topping just combine all the ingredients in a bowl.
Spoon goat cheese into a low bowl, then top with cooled cranberry sauce. Top with the honey walnut mixture and serve with your favorite crackers!

Enjoy!

Where the magic happens

Fall 90s Movie + Couch Snack: Buffalo Butter Salti Fall 90s Movie + Couch Snack: Buffalo Butter Saltines with Mystic Pizza 🎥 🛋️

Have you ever made Franks Hot Sauce Butter, then marinated your saltines and crisped them up in the oven? Well, this is your sign if you haven’t. I was wanting to make something similar to the Franks Red Hot Goldfish collab but saltines with a little “Firecracker” (iykyk) twist. Hope you love these!

INGREDIENTS:
⅓ cup Frank’s Red Hot Sauce
5 tablespoons salted butter, melted and cooled slightly
½ teaspoon garlic powder
Pinch crushed red pepper flakes
Coarsely ground black pepper
1 sleeve Saltine crackers

In a liquid measuring cup, combine the Frank’s Red Hot sauce, butter, garlic powder, crushed red pepper flakes, and a few grinds of black pepper. Whisk until combined.

Add butter mixture and crackers to a gallon sized resealable plastic bag. Seal and turn the bag over a few times to coat the crackers in the spicy butter. Let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes, turning the bag occasionally.

Preheat the oven to 300°F with a rack in the center position. On a rimmed baking sheet, arrange the crackers in a single layer. Season with pepper. Note: the saltines will be soggy and that’s ok! Just proceed carefully and if some break no biggie.

Bake for 30 minutes, rotating the sheet from front to back once, until the crackers are crisp. Cool completely. Serve immediately or keep in an airtight container for 4 to 5 days- if they last in your house that long!

#WalmartPartner I might not know who is playing bu #WalmartPartner I might not know who is playing but I DO know we’re putting a little brie + prosciutto on potato chips. 🏈

Brie, prosciutto, hot honey, and thyme bites, a cheesy pepper jelly dip, and apple cider… this is all that really matters to me. If you’re on snack duty too, try Sparky in the @walmart app for a little game day inspiration. Go sports.
