The Double Wine Decanter

The Double Decanter šŸ·āœØ

Wine lovers this is for you! Meet the double decanter: a magical gadget that takes an ā€œokā€ bottle of wine, makes it taste good; a good bottle taste great ; and a great bottle taste excellent!

If youā€™ve followed me for any amount of time, you know that we swear by this double decanter. We discovered it at a wine tasting in Napa a 3 years ago, and have since orderedā€¦ SEVEN. Yes, seven lol. I know this gadget can look intimidating and that you guys need some answers, so letā€™s dive into the most commonly asked questions I get about it. Ps, itā€™s linked on my Amazon Storefront. šŸ·

WHAT DOES IT DO?
It rapidly incorporates oxygen into the wine, which then releases certain compounds within the wine. AKA makes it taste better, quickly.

DO YOU ONLY DECANT REDS?
This particular decanter is better suited for decanting red wines, though I canā€™t imagine it would necessarily hurt a white wine TBH.

DOES IT REMOVE SEDIMENT?
No, it doesnā€™t!

DO YOU HAVE TO FINISH THE WHOLE BOTTLE IF YOU DECANT IT?
No, not at all. But I would suggest drinking within a day or two. I do this all the time with next to no complaints (by mešŸ˜‚.)

MINE KEEPS LEAKING. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?
So – if you have the decanter that has the black rubber seal, (I have one that has it and another that doesnā€™t) itā€™s important to make sure you have it sealed super well before decanting. I position the rubber ring right above the lip of the top of the decanter, with a tiny bit of overhang, which then helps me with my seal when the lid is placed on. After the decanting, and itā€™s time to separate the bottle from the decanter, I grab a paper towel and wrap it around to avoid it spraying wine in my face. Wish I had a better answer for you but thatā€™s what Iā€™ve got. Itā€™s worth the extra effort.

HOW DO I CLEAN IT?
I wash mine on the top rack of my dishwasher at an angle. You could also use a bottle brush and hand-wash!
