DARCI’S KINDNESS COOKIES

FINALLY sharing the written recipe for my most recent YouTube episode: Darci’s Kindness cookies! Above is the the original recipe card. It’s the “Keep some, give the rest away” for me. But truly – they’re named “Kindness Cookies,” because when you make these, everyone who eats them will ask you for the recipe, and they’ll keep the cycle going. This is my Mama’s recipe and it’s something she has been known for, for decades!

They’re the perfect cookie. Not quite a brownie, not quite an oatmeal cookie, not too sweet – not too chewy. They’re literally perfection. Recipe below! Ps, this will also be on the blog along with Landyn’s raspberry pretzel salad!

Cook Along With A Video:

Ingredients:

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate morsels

8oz cream cheese *softened

1 stick butter

1 cup packed brown brown sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 eggs

1/2 tsp vanilla

1 1/2 cup pre-sifted flour

1 1/2 tsp baking soda

3 cups Quaker oats *old fashioned

1 cup chopped nuts *I used walnuts

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat your oven to 350.

Melt chocolate in a small saucepan on LOW heat (IYKYN)

Mix cream cheese, butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla & beat well.

Next, add melted chocolate & mix. Combine baking soda, and flour add to the mixture & stir in the oats & nuts.

Drop by the teaspoon onto an ungreased baking sheet and bake for 8-10 min until centers are set. “DO NOT OVER BAKE.” Dust baked cookies with powdered sugar, and remember to give some away.

Sprinkle powder sugar on top & enjoy!
