The ultimate form of self care.

So⌠what is Couch Caviar
Well, technically, itâs one of the most perfect bites youâll ever take: a salt and vinegar kettle chip (non-negotiable), a dollop of crème fraĂŽche, finely minced shallot and chives, and a generous spoonful of roe caviar.
But itâs also a little philosophy Iâve adopted.
I think we spend way too much time waiting for the ârightâ moment to enjoy the good stuff. We save the fancy bottle for a special occasion. We tuck away the nice dishes. We convince ourselves weâll celebrate later.
I say⌠why?
Whether youâre hosting girlsâ night, celebrating a job promotion (you earned it, by the way), or just made it through a Tuesday, thatâs reason enough. Put on your sweatpants, pour a martini or a glass of champagne, and make yourself a few bites. Life doesnât need a milestone to be worth celebrating.
Now, to be clearâI didnât invent this bite. Itâs a classic for a reason. I have, however, enthusiastically encouraged just about everyone I know to try it because itâs ridiculously delicious.
And hereâs the thing: you donât actually have to be eating caviar on your couch to get it. Itâs really about giving yourself permission to enjoy your life now instead of saving all the good things for âsomeday.â
Funny enough, this little ritual has taken on a life of its own. Iâve talked about it with Wine Enthusiast, on podcasts, and in interviews, and I still smile every time someone tells me they finally bought the caviar, put on their comfy clothes, and realized they shouldâve done it years ago.
How to create the perfect Couch Caviar⢠bite:
- Grab a Salt + Vinegar Kettle Potato chip (I love the Blue Bag from the Kettle Brand)
- Add a dollop of creme fraiche
- Then a spoonful (pearl or wooden spoon) of caviar (my fave is from Roe Caviar)
- Next, a sprinkle of finely minced chives and shallot
- Pairs well with a glass of Champagne, sweatpants and Real Housewives.
- Ps, this is my favorite little caviar dish
