Where to Eat in NYC PT. II

Breakfast, Brunch, Cocktails, Desserts, Dinner

Someone asked me recently if we just, and I quote, “eat the entire time you travel?!?” ….. and my answer is, um yes because is there any other way? We eat, we walk, we eat, we shop, we eat, we drink, we sleep, and wake up to do it all over it again.

That said, here’s a roundup of all the places we ate on this trip. I have a few other guides with more places from last trips, but here are some highlights from this week! Highly recommend every place below. As always let me know if you have any questions!

BUVETTE:
The most charming French bistro in West Village that is open morning till night with such delicious food. It’s my favorite place to sit down and eat breakfast in the city.

What we order:
Breakfast-  Croque Monsieur, Jambon Cru, almond croissant, Café Au Lait, fresh squeezed OJ,
Dinner – Nettle Meadow cheese, Steak TarTare, Moules Au Curry, Steak Frites, Dauphinois Gratin, Chocolate Mouse (the best I’ve ever had!)

DON ANGIE: * Don’t worry if you don’t have a resy! Get there right when they open to get a table! Works 9/10 for us.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: if I could eat anywhere in the world, I’d eat here. Everything from vibe, to service to of course food, is Heaven. When it comes to what to order – order everything. ? The rolled lasagna is what got them their Michelin star – but it’s really all so good.
What we order:
St■ garlic flatbread, chrysanthemum salad, BBQ calamari, stracchino gnocchi, garganelli, chicken scarpariello, lasagna, Japanese sweet potato, broccoli di ciccio, carmelized pear sorbetto, and tiramisu

RUSS & DAUGHTERS:
A true NYC establishment that’s been around for over 100 years. We literally dream about their bagels, their lox, their Green olives – and recently found out they ship!
What we order:
Classic bagel & lox on an everything bagel with scallion cream cheese, tomato, onion & capers. Chris also bought a quart of their Greek olives this time and they are fabulous!

MADAME VO:
One of my friends told me about this place a few years ago, and we keep going back! Absolutely delicious Vietnamese – love coming here for lunch.
What we order:
Madame Wings, Cha Gio, and the Madame Pho with added short ribs

EMILIO’S BALLATO:
Chris has been wanting to come here for so long, and we finally decided it was time. We had to wait for maybe 30-40 minutes (in the freezing cold lol) – but let me tell you, that Pasta e Fagioli was worth every second. Everything about the atmosphere is comforting and cozy + the food is downright delicious.
What we ordered:
The antipasto, broccoli di Rape, Pasta d Fagioli, Penne alla Arrabbiata, Petto di Pollo alla Parmigiana, Eggplant Parmigiana (which was the special of the day), and Tiramisu

LITTLE BRANCH:
One of our favorite spots for a cocktail in West Village! Vibey with delicious drinks. I always order the Bees Knees cocktail, and Chris always says “surprise me” when he orders, haha.

DAME:
We’ve tried to get in a few times before and finally snagged a rez! This one is always on a NYC best restaurant list, so we were so excited to finally try it out – and it didn’t disappoint! Definitely a highlight of the trip.
What we ordered:
Grilled oysters with green chartreuse hollandaise, squid & scallion skewers, butter beans with peekytoe crab & ‘nduja, fish & chips, fish pie, and sticky toffee pudding

CAFÈ CHELSEA:
This is the all-day cafè inside the famous Hotel Chelsea, where we were staying! Incredible food available all day from breakfast until late at night – I’m talking you can order steak frites at 11:30 pm. Everything is delicious!
What we order:
For breakfast – latte, pain au chocolate, Kouign Amann À La Cannelle, Eggs Benedict
For lunch/dinner – the burger, roasted chicken, steak frites

Enjoy!
