If you need the easiest, most delicious holiday dinner side – My Aunt Amber’s homeade creamed corn recipe is the one you need to make. She’s been making it for as long as I can remember, and people go craaaaazy over it. I finally asked her for the recipe and couldn’t get over how easy it is! When I served it alongside our prime rib, everyone at the dinner table was asking for the recipe as they ate it. That’s how you know it’s a good one! The recipe is below, and I definitely recommend that you double it – because it goes fast. ? I speak for all of us when I say – thank you Aunt Amber for your recipe!!!!
INGREDIENTS:
20 ounces corn
1 C of heavy whipping cream
1 C of milk
2 Tbsp flour
2 Tbsp melted butter
1 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp Lawry’s seasoned salt and more to taste
Cracked pepper
DIRECTIONS:
In a pot, bring the milk and cream to a simmer, then add in the corn and return to a simmer.
Mix the melted butter with the flour and add to the pot, stir and again return everything to a low simmer.
Add in the sugar, Lawry’s salt, and pepper, then taste.
Adjust seasonings to your personal liking, stir everything together and let the creamed corn thicken at a gentle simmer for another 10 minutes or so, stirring every few minutes until the desired thickness has been reached.
Merry Christmas!
Do you think you can make this ahead of time and put in casserole dish to reheat?
Totally! Maybe best to reheat in a pot but definitely can make ahead!
Looks yummy. Thanks for sharing! Silly question …does it matter if it is canned or frozen corn? I need explicit instructions when cooking lol.
She said she uses frozen corn!
Making for New Year’s Day!!!
How many does this serve? Making tonight ????
